Delhi history

Delhi is a city with a rich history which has witnessed the rise and falls of many emperors and empires. It is the integration of all these cities that has brought about Delhi , a city of power and imperial sway. There have been about eight cities around modern Delhi ; and according to legend, the person who founded a new city here will lose it. The British were the last to found New Delhi in 1911, and since then, they have lost the city to India .

Besides the rise and fall of many empires in Delhi , Delhi was the focal point for the first war of independence in 1857.
